SCRIPT FOR FORT SILOSO

Picture one

Narrator: The critical analysis of the reasons why Singapore fell to the Japanese so easily.

About Fort Siloso.

Our main message for this film is that we must protect Singapore ourselves. In world war 2 ,we depended on the British too much and we suffered the mistake that they made.

Fort Siloso was suppose to protect Singapore but why was it useless? In this part of the film we will talk about Fort Siloso and it defences.

Action of narrator: Both hands should move a little.

Picture two

Why was fort siloso useless ?

Picture three

The British expected a attack from the sea to the south so they installed all their guns at fort siloso at the south but the Japanese attack from the sky as the British have underestimate them

Action of the narrator : The narrator is walking while he is talking.

Picture 4

What are the military powers that Singapore has to protect Singapore ?

The British installed many 15 -inch gun facing the sea as they are expecting a sea attack.

This is one of the examples of the guns.

What are the types of guns and ammunitions build at these forts ?

There were 2 × 6 in (152 mm) MK2 guns and one rapid firing 12 Pounder gun.

Was Singapore an impregnable fortress?

No, Singapore was never an impregnable fortress as the defensive weapons were useless. Thus when the Japanese attacks there are no defensive weapons to help the soldiers and the Japanese are better trained than the British

Picture 5 - Interview

who do you think is more well train in the war?british or japanese?why?

Picture 6

we are going to show you a short film of a Japanese soldier fighting against a British soldier.

Picture 7 - Conclusion

From this film, we will be showing you the critical analysis of the reasons why Singapore fell to Japanese so easily .As you can see the British did not plan very well and train enough soldier that why Singapore fell so easily . Because of that we cannot depend on others to protect Singapore for us but we must protect it ourselves as it is our country

We can also learn a lesson from the british mistakes that is do not underestimate people and look down on them . Treat them as an equal.
